Do PhotoCore and Finder work together?
Yes, perfectly. PhotoCore doesn't replace Finder — it enhances it. Use Finder to manage and move files, and PhotoCore to find them by meaning. Both tools work on the same folders without interfering with each other.
Can macOS Finder search inside images?
No. Spotlight and Finder search filenames, EXIF metadata (date, camera, GPS), and OCR text. They cannot understand the visual subject or semantic meaning of an image. PhotoCore fills exactly that gap.
Does PhotoCore modify or move my files?
Only if you ask it to. Smart rename is optional and always requires confirmation before being applied. Indexing doesn't touch original files — it only creates a local SQLite database with vectors and optionally updates XMP metadata in the file itself.
Does it work with NAS drives or network folders?
