Every archive carries the same weight: bursts of the same jump, five nearly identical sunsets, a blurry frame between two sharp ones, and a decade of screenshots mixed in with real photographs. Nobody reviews 4,000 thumbnails by hand, so the good 200 stay buried under the other 3,800. Culling an archive is a filtering problem, and filtering is what PhotoCore does.

Filters work together. Take a wedding folder: set the people-count filter to 'exactly 2 people' and the view narrows to the couple shots. Sort that by quality and the strongest couple portraits sit at the top of the grid. The last step
Pick the winner in seconds
PhotoCore does not choose for you, and that is deliberate. For a burst of fifteen frames, group them with similar-photo search, sort by quality, and compare the top two or three instead of all fifteen. The decision stays yours; the app removes the scrolling that used to surround it. Does PhotoCore pick the best photo automatically?
No, and that is deliberate. PhotoCore sorts similar shots by an on-device quality score so the strongest frames rise to the top, and you pick the winner yourself in seconds.
Can PhotoCore find duplicate photos?
Similar-photo search finds near-duplicates of any image, with a tolerance slider that sets how strict the match is. You can drag and drop a reference photo even if it was never indexed.
Does culling delete or move my files?
No. PhotoCore indexes folders in place and read-only, so sorting and filtering never touch the originals. You decide in Finder what to do with the frames you drop.
Does quality scoring send my photos anywhere?
No. Scoring uses Apple Vision image aesthetics on the Neural Engine, entirely on device. There is no cloud, no account and no tracker.
